Horton Plains
Horton Plains National Park was designated a national park in 1988 and is a protected reserve area covering 3,160 hectares, in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. The park is a plateau lying at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 meters above sea level, vegetation in the area consists of part grassland and cloud forest. The region is naturally rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. Nearby attractions include the scenic town of Ohiya , the world famous Ohiya Gap/Dondra Watch and the town of Nuwara Eliya.
