Meemure is a village in Sri Lanka with a population of about 400 . It is located in the Knuckles Mountain Range lying near the border between the Kandy and Matale Districts. Meemure is 175 kilometres away from Colombo, and is a remote village accessible only via a 14 km trail from the town of Loolwatte. The path can be traversed by mini vans. The village and the surrounding area encompass about 700 acres. The small population of 700 people in the village are heavily dependent on the forest for the livelihood. The village does not have a cellular phone network.
