Unawatuna is a coastal town in Galle district and is a suburb Of Galle lying 5 kilometers away from the city center. Unawatuna is a major tourist attraction in Sri Lanka and famous for its beautiful beach and corals. Off the coast of Unawatuna, in the ocean floor lies a large number of coral reefs, shipwrecks, and a great variety of fish and turtles. The town is approximately 108 kilometers away from Colombo and takes 2 hours to travel to via the southern expressway.
