Hikkaduwa lies on the south coast of Sri Lanka approximately 98 km south of Colombo and 17 km north-west of Galle. Hikkaduwa is located on the Southern Coastal Rail Line and is also connected by the A2 highway which runs through the town. Hikkaduwa is famed for its beach and nightlife plus the Hikkaduwa surf, the second best surfing spot in the island which remains an international destination for board surfers.
